The Artist Formerly Known As...

Master MC, Hacker, Nerd, and Video Game Junkie...

...not a web designer.

An instant nerd rap star, Mark Ridlen has triumphed over all the haters, players, and spam in his inbox to become famous and rich. But rich in more of a spiritual sense. He's at least rich enough to give his 1337 tr4x away for free, but not rich enough to turn down a paypal donation. He doesn't smoke weed, but he has a caffeine habit that needs some work. Enjoy the tracks, wretches!

Portfolio

Mark Ridlen has been involved creating electronic music of all sorts for roughly 10 years. He has remixed YTCracker under the alias Introspective Journeys, which can be found on the Nerdrap Entertainment System page (alternately you may download the song at the soundclick page). Not content to simply remix songs, he covers many of his favorites, including "Welcome to the Machine," and "Fascination Street" at his Truth and Regret music page. His other side project Isotope Lab delves into sci-fi storytelling put to an agressive electronica backdrop. Lastly, his project Antisocial is an effort to help solidify a subgenre filled with poor production values and lackluster rapping skills. But more importanly to "get crazy bling." For this new album "Depressed Nerd," he takes a much different approach to music creation. Instead of composing the music himself, he stole it from Depeche Mode (among others). This is, in many ways, more difficult than creating an original song. These loops are then sequenced and augmented with his own drum and synth programming. In hexadecimal.

The upcoming remix/cover album!

Goals for the next album:

  1. Subject material will push the boundries of Nerdcore.
    • This intruigues me greatly
    • I would like to rap about things like: cars, money, drugs, guns... but in an educational manner.
    • Like Beefy, I'm going to try to stay away from being too "meta"
    • I'm going rap about uncool things to rap about... the possibilities are endless
    • I'm gonna try to make a nerd horror core track. Sketchy on the details.
  2. Songs that tell the story of a popular movie or book
  3. Less poser in nature.
  4. Funnier, more clever songs
  5. Darker songs
  6. More touching songs
  7. Beatboxing and vocal turntabling
  8. Push the boundries of vocal technique
  9. Greater variance in BPM range
  10. Possibly some collaboration, especially with MC ::1
  11. Songs that are less dated in nature, yet still culturally relevant
  12. Aiming for a longer album
  13. The beats themselves will have more quality goodness
  14. Better mixing on the vocals
  15. More chiptune action!
  16. Maybe even a TMNT related song
  17. Musically, much more varied, expect beats from all different genres.
